My journey to becoming a therapist
Before I became a therapist, I spent over 20 years collaborating with Fortune 100 companies as a marketing executive. Watching how stressful jobs wore people down, including me, inspired me to change direction. I went back to school and earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a focus in Professional Clinical Counseling, at Touro University.
I'm a Somatic EMDR practitioner and a trained Domestic Violence Counselor. My experience spans community organizations and private practice, where I've supported adults, adolescents, couples, and families affected by trauma and domestic violence. That work has grounded my commitment to trauma-informed, compassionate care that honors all identities and family structures.
My Philosophy
-
I offer care that is warm, honest, and open, so you can be exactly who you are. I bring my true self to every session because our relationship is what makes lasting change possible. I'll encourage you and sometimes challenge you, at a pace you can handle.
-
I’ll meet you where you are, seeing you as a whole person with your own story, culture, and strengths. We work together, and your voice, goals, and pace guide each step.
-
I see you as capable and motivated, someone who already has a lot to build on. Together, we'll strengthen what's working in your life and make room for new growth, with curiosity, courage, and self-compassion along the way.
-
I approach our work with care, sensitivity, and respect for your pace. We’ll gently look at how past experiences might shape your feelings and actions today, always with safety and support at the center.
